Will there be a doctor in the White House?
The answer should not be disputed – the answer is obviously yes. Joe Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, has a doctorate. However, if you were to ask an opinion journalist from the Wall Street Journal, the answer would be no. According to the play, Jill Biden’s diploma is somehow less valid because it is not a doctor’s degree in medicine.
The opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal criticizes the use of First Lady Jill Biden as “Dr.” because she has a doctorate in educational sciences, rather than a medical degree.
What the opinion article means is that some degrees are more equal than others. Does it remind you of the Animal Farm?
The article in the Journal, published on Saturday, was criticized for her attack on Biden, who received her doctorate in 2007 and intends to continue teaching during her husband, President-elect Joe Biden.
The author of the column, Joseph Epstein, was also accused of patronizing Biden when he called her a “child” and suggested that the use of the title was “fraudulent” and “a comic book.”
The attack sparked heated debate, and on Monday, Michelle Obama joined the ranks of those defending her husband’s vice president’s husband.
“For eight years, I’ve seen Dr. Jill Biden do what a lot of professional women do – she successfully manages more than one responsibility at a time, from her teaching duties to her official duties in the House. White to her roles as a mother, wife, and friend, “she wrote in an Instagram post.
“And right now, we all see what’s happening with so many professional women, whether their titles are Dr., Lady, Lady or even First Lady: Too often, our achievements are greeted with skepticism, even with derisory.
“After decades of work, we are forced to prove ourselves again,” Obama said.
But it wasn’t just other prominent people who defended it: the holders of medical doctorates themselves came out in support of Jill Biden’s doctoral degree, accrediting it as valid as it became.

And doctoral degrees were awarded to those considered sufficiently educated and qualified to teach in their field. Doctors are * doctors *, who are one of MANY types of * doctors *. @DrBiden“Dr.” it is as earned and valid as that of any other PhD holder.

The GOP is worried here @DrBiden calling himself a βdoctorβ, even if he has a doctorate earned from an accredited institution, they still had no problems @MELANIATRUMP LIES about having a degree in architecture from the University of Slovenia.#BenShapiro#DrJillBiden

Dr. Jill Biden has a PhD in education and has every right to be named a doctor. In fact, anyone with a PhD, DDS, MD, DO or Ed.D has the right to be called a doctor. Ben Shapiro never received any of these diplomas. He may have gone to Harvard Law, but his only title is Clown.

Dr. Biden has worked damn hard for her doctorate, so if she wants to be called Dr. Jill Biden, she’ll be damn good. And you can bet your ass if I decide to go back to school for my doctorate. I’ll make sure the hell people refer to me as a doctor #The view pic.twitter.com/QrEcBckZO8

One last tweet about this attack on @DrBiden from someone who is not worth mentioning. This gets on my nerves. I am so proud of the achievements of my late wife! He was a doctor. Education. Her doctoral degree is worth more to me than mine. #RespectWomen

The University of Delaware, where Jill Biden earned her doctorate, posted a tweet, focusing on the legitimacy of the degree.
Biden himself responded indirectly on Sunday, when he posted on Twitter: “Together, we will build a world where our daughters’ achievements will be celebrated, rather than denigrated.”
Northwestern University, where Epstein had taught until 2003, quickly distanced himself from him, saying in a statement that the article “casts an undeserved sprinkling on Dr. Jill Biden’s legal public claiming his doctoral credentials and expertise.”
Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and the country’s first second husband, remarked, “This article was never written about a man.”
