Funimation will be released as an Anime streaming application only on the Nintendo Switch

Funimation will be released as the only anime streaming application on the Nintendo Switch. Following a cryptic teasing in which Funimation first indicated a collaboration with the Nintendo Switch console, Funimation has now officially announced that fans will be able to check out the anime streaming application on the console starting Tuesday, December 15th. It will be available to fans in the United States and Canada, with plans to expand to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico and other countries in the coming months. According to the Funimation press release, it will become the only anime application on the console.

Funimation product manager Kaliel Roberts said the following about the ad: “We will always go where the community wants the anime, and Funimation is 100% committed to listening to and serving fans on every platform. When the Nintendo Switch was a possibility in front of us, I was a resounding “absolute” with the opportunity to continue to serve fans. “You can view a video breakdown of the ad below:

“Our teams approached the partnership with a common goal to create a captivating application experience created for anime fans,” says Roberts. “This passionate approach has borne fruit with a captivating and captivating point of contact, which has been specially created for our audience. Once Funimation hits the Nintendo Switch, it will be available on all current generation game consoles after its releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

It’s been a huge month for Funimation, as they previously announced that the company has also acquired Crunchyroll. More details about this purchase will be revealed at a later date, but soon Nintendo Switch fans will be able to check out a massive library of moving anime alongside their game library!
