Haryana Lockdown News: Haryana orders all shops to close by 6pm, bans non-essential gatherings | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: After witnessing a rapid rise in Covid-19 cases in recent days, the Haryana government on Thursday announced several restrictions to control the spread, including closing stores until 6pm and banning all non-essential gatherings.
The restrictions will take effect on Friday, said the Minister of State for Interior and Health, Anil Vij.
“All shops will remain closed from 18:00 in Haryana from tomorrow, all non-essential meetings are prohibited, anyone holding any office within the prescribed limit will have to seek the permission of the relevant SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate),” he said. Vij in a tweet.

The state government had recently capped the number of participants in indoor events at 50 and the number for open spaces at 200.
On April 21, Haryana recorded 9,623 new Covid-19 infections and 45 deaths, the highest increase in the state in a single day, both in cases and deaths.
