Former England batman Kevin Pietersen says he is “scared of the way Sanju Samson plays his shots” and the time he has to play. Pietersen was very impressed with captain Rajasthan Royals’ Samson century against the Punjab kings in IPL 2021. RR failed to win the match, but Samson 119 remains one of IPL’s strengths this year.
“I love Sanju Samson every year. I am absolutely amazed by the way he plays his photos and the time he has to play. His century against the Punjab kings was absolutely magnificent and he was very unlucky not to put his side over the line, “Pietersen told Betway.
However, Pietersen stressed that Samson must be consistent with the bat, as he tends to “disappear” in the middle of the IPL.

“We talked a lot about it in the comments last year, but it’s about consistency with Samson,” Pietersen added. “It tends to disappear in the middle of the tournament.”
Samson has not been in the race since scoring a hundred in RR’s opening match.
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint and we don’t want it to be the only inning worth talking about in a few weeks, so we should be careful that he scored only four in Rajasthan’s second match against Delhi Capitals.
“His responsibilities go to another level now, that he is the Royals captain, however, and he has to cover the hole left by Ben Stokes in that battle line.
“As a captain, you start thinking about others as well as yourself, which can go two ways. You can lose your basics and get out of the boil, but it can also set you free because you don’t constantly think about your own game.
“When you don’t think too much about beatings, a free spirit like Samson can go out there and just start toning him everywhere. It’s another reminder that there is no academy in the world like IPL, “said Pietersen.
Samson would like to get back in shape against RCB.
