Mi 10i 5G comes to India on January 5, SD750G camera and 108MP camera

Last month, Xiaomi unveiled its Redmi Note 9 series in China. However, these devices had nothing in common with those launched earlier this month. The company has launched Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 4G. The latter, even if it is a different 4G variant, is different from the vanilla 9 note launched on the global markets. A month passed and only Redmi Note 9 4G escaped from China to become Redmi 9 Power in India. However, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and Note 9 5G are also becoming global devices with different names. In recent weeks, we have heard reports of a new Mi 10i 5G and it turns out that this device is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G with incremental changes.

Today, Xiaomi Vice President Manu Kumar Jain joined the presentation campaign for Mi 10i 5G. He posted a video describing the future device as an “extension” to Mi 10, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro and even Mi 10T-Lite. It is definitely a huge family. While the device is essentially a Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, which is also very similar to the 10T Lite, it will arrive in India with a new camera sensor. It will have an improved 108MP camera, and the device will be announced in India on January 5th. Unfortunately, we are not sure about the availability of the device in global markets. After all, the company’s vice president says “i” in Mi 10i means “India.”

Mi 10i will bring an impressive 108MP camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G

The quad camera of the phone in the video teaser has “108MP AI Camera” and “Built for 5G”. Xiaomi was the first company to use the 108MP camera sensor (Samsung HMX). The module debuted in Mi Note 10 Pro (Mi CC9 Pro). Now the company will bet in a new module, maybe HM2. Samsung unveiled this special sensor in September. Makes the 9-in-1 bin instead of 4-in-1 as HMX. Under the hood, the phone will pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G. It is an excellent chipset over the SD73x series and below SD765 in terms of performance.

Once the device is based on the Note 9 Pro 5G. It should carry similar specifications, such as the 6.67-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. The phone will consume power from a full 4,820 mAh battery with a fast charging of 33 W. Xiaomi may change a thing or two for the Indian market, but we will know in just a few days.

Even Amazon India already has a detailed landing page for your phone. The e-commerce platform will be the exclusive launch partner for the device. The phone will also arrive through Mi.com and brick stores.
