Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother asks for bail in case of alleged child molestation; read details | Hindi movie news

Minazuddin Siddiqui, the younger brother of the Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has moved a special POCSO court here, looking for an anticipatory bail in a case of allegedly molesting a minor girl in his family eight years ago. Admitting Minazuddin’s request, Special Judge Sanjive Kumar Tiwari is scheduled to hear it on December 16.

In the case of Minazuddin’s estranged wife, Nawazuddin, against their family members, the Allahabad High Court earlier suspended in October the arrests of the actor, his two brothers, Fayazuddin and Ayazuddin, and his mother Mehrunissa.

However, the high court had not given any relief to actor Minazuddin’s brother in this case.

Minajuddin’s lawyer, Nadeem Zafer Zaidi, said his client had applied for an exemption from the POCSO court on the grounds that the arrest of other co-accused in the case had already been suspended by the high court.

The case, accusing one of the actor’s three children of abusing a minor child in 2012, along with other family members, ignoring his conduct, was filed by the actor’s estranged wife this year, on July 27.

The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Criminal Code and the Law on the Protection of Children from Sex Offenses. Following the official registration, a judicial magistrate also recorded the victim’s statement under section 164 of the CRPC corroborating the allegations in the case.
