In line with the promise of the poll, the Nitish Kumar government on Tuesday approved a proposal to provide the free coronavirus vaccine to all the state’s population. The decision was made at the first meeting of the cabinet.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that Bihar will receive free vaccines against Covid-19 during state polls.

Sources said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the health department to work out how to inoculate every resident of the state against coronavirus.

“The modalities will be elaborated in the coming days. In principle, a free vaccination decision was made in the state. In the first round, health workers can be given doses followed by people over the age of 60 and then 50. Consultations will take place and a detailed report on vaccination actions will be prepared soon, “said a senior government official aware of developments.

CM MP Tarkishore Prasad said: “We decided to transport the free inoculation of Covid-19 vaccines to every resident of the state, because it was an important promise of the BJP and the NDA. Our decision is a great gift for the people of the state after the formation of the government. We believe that Bihar’s greatest strength is its human resources and we want them to be protected against deadly disease, as the world is battling a pandemic. ”

The CM deputy said that Covid vaccines will be administered once they are approved and available on the market.

Former CM MP and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi said: “The decision of the state cabinet to provide free vaccines against Covid-19 to the entire population of Bihar is a welcome decision. I think other states should emulate it. The BJP, in its manifesto, promised to offer free vaccines, knowing full well that in Bihar only a small part of the population can afford it at market prices. Once the vaccines arrive, front-line workers, police personnel and those over 50 will be given the doses in a phased manner, “he said.

The cabinet has also decided to create 20 jobs in the governmental and non-governmental sector over the next five years and also link Hindi to technical education, in addition to building Ashray stalls in each city for the elderly. .

The state cabinet approved the implementation of all programs under Atma Nirbhar Bihar and Saath Nischai (Seven Decisions) -2 for the next five years (2020-2025), in addition to approving another 14 agendas, according to a government press release.

Other major decisions were to improve the incentive for unmarried girls who went intermediate from 10,000 rupees to 25,000 rupees, while for married / unmarried girls who graduated, the incentive was raised to 50,000 rupees from 25,000 rupees for higher education.

Young people eager to start a business will be given loans of 5 lakhs with an interest rate of one percent plus a 50% subsidy for the cost of the project, up to a maximum of 5 lakhs.
