Recent match report – Gladiators vs Bangla Tiger 27th match 2021/22

Deccan Gladiators 140 for 1 (Kohler-Cadmore 96) beaten Bangla tigers 78 (Udana 33, Hasaranga 5-8) with 62 points

According to Smart Stats from ESPN Cricinfo, Wanindu Hasaranga was the MVP of the T20 World Cup. In the Super 12, Sri Lanka took ten wickets and gave up just 5.84 an over.

At Abu Dhabi T10, he is once again the most valuable player and an essential part of the rise of the Deccan Gladiators to the top of the standings, as the tournament reaches its business end. He repeatedly confused his opponents with the ball in his hand.

Hasaranga is the only man with a bowling average who is in single figures. He has 18 wickets so far at 8.61 and the lowest economic rate at 8.15. Not surprisingly, he is also the only bowler to throw a girl into the competition. No one else is really close.

On a day when two drummers lit up the Zayed cricket ground with their fierce blows, Hasaranga made sure that this was a format in which the bowlers could shine with a five-goal shot that destroyed the Bangla Tigers.

Succeeding in a five-goal game in any match is an achievement. Doing it twice is pretty ridiculous.

In his first over, he fired Karim Janat before throwing Johnson Charles with a snowball right at the next delivery. Isuru Udana survived the hat-trick.

Hasaranga’s second was pure magic. Benny Howell tried a reverse sweep, but found Tymal Mills in the back. James Faulkner was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper.

Vishnu Sukumaran was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the Hasaranga. He didn’t last long either. Three more points followed, before Sukumaran fired one straight at the player.

Hasaranga had a five for the best figures in the history of T10. Maybe, even more impressive, he had a girl in a T10 game. Specifically, a virgin with three ports.

“I am very impressed with Hasaranga,” said his Deccan Gladiators coach and one of the greatest spinners of all time, Mushtaq Ahmed. “I talked to him about how to make variations. He has a good mistake, but he has to develop his legs more. People are waiting to make mistakes, but he has several broken legs and flippers and has also developed a spin off against the left-hander.

“Learn the trade, use the fold, pick up the rhythm of the ball, all the little things we’ve discussed. He’s very open-minded and a very good listener.”

The fact that he did not receive the prize for the fifth player of the match in the competition was due to the explosive Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who has played the rounds of the tournament so far.

Kohler-Cadmore was four times less than what would have been the first century of the Abu Dhabi T10. In 2019, Chris Lynn ended up undefeated with 91 * discounts on deliveries and no one has arrived in the nineties since. Kohler-Cadmore’s brutal 96 of 39 will take some beating.

The 27-year-old came out fighting knowing that another low score could have meant problems for his position, entering the playoffs. Apart from an undefeated half-century win over Delhi Bulls at the start of the tournament, his next highest score was 12. He has only managed 46 points in the last six innings, including a golden duck last time.

After hitting a few frontiers with both Mohammad Amir and Luke Wood in powerplay, Kohler-Cadmore needed a piece of luck when he was left on the 24th from Faulkner, but he made his luck count. With Andre Russell at the other end, Kohler-Cadmore occupied the center of the stage with 12 four and five sixes, before leading a complete throw in the last, in front of Will Jacks in the middle.

Kohler-Cadmore said after the game that he decided to use a single stick on the stick, unlike the two he used before, and maybe that was all he needed.

“I could easily have been left out today, but it gives you confidence to know that I support you,” Kohler-Cadmore said. “Being down changed the half for me – I think today was just my birthday, with that little bit of luck that went through me, like when I hit it in the air, it just went over the player.”

Yorkshire Dough now has a part of T10 history, but it was a bittersweet moment that did not become the first centurion in history.

Obviously, it’s a shame when you get so close that you don’t get (a hundred), but if you had asked me at the beginning of the game “you would get 96”, I would have said “100%”, I would take this and I would he bit his hand for it, “Kohler-Cadmore said.

Such an astonishing beating made Hasaranga’s spell even more fascinating. After Kohler-Cadmore made 96 himself, the Tigers were ruled out for only 78.

For Hasaranga, Kohler-Cadmore and Gladiators, the next match will be a direct hit on Friday for a place in the final against Abu Dhabi or Delhi Bulls.

In the later game, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, just a few days after turning 20, hit the fastest 50 of the tournament. Gurbaz’s powerful shot needed just 14 deliveries, including five fours and six sixes, when the Delhi Bulls hit the Chennai Braves. They ran to a target of 81 in 25 deliveries and ended an abysmal campaign for the Braves.
