The day before the New Year, Samsung released a short video teasing the Galaxy S21. “A new Galaxy is waiting,” says the video, as Samsung draws viewers through a decade of Galaxy S launches.
Unfortunately, no details about the Galaxy S21 are revealed. Not that we would have expected Samsung to share detailed information, but it would have been nice to see something, anything.
If you kept up with the Galaxy S21, the new Samsung device has leaked several times in the last month, to the point where we know almost everything, from design to specifications. So, while Samsung is playing badly, this does not mean that we do not know what to expect before the official unveiling of the Galaxy S21.
Although no details are shared, the new teaser video serves as Samsung’s official statement that it is preparing to make an announcement very soon. In essence, it’s time for the marketing machine to start at high speed and dominate the conversation for the next few weeks.
Samsung is expected to launch three new devices at its upcoming Unpacked event: Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra. The latest device will have S Pen support, which would be a premiere for the Galaxy S series. It would also support rumors about Samsung officially eliminating the Galaxy Note series, although a recent report threw cold water on that rumor.
Whatever we see, Samsung would very much like consumers to know that it is “waiting for a new Galaxy”. From the many leaks we’ve seen, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series looks like the most powerful range so far. We are particularly pleased to see the new design, which now includes a flat screen and redesigned camera mode. With a rumor about the event on January 14 on the horizon, expect more teasers from Samsung in the coming days.
