Former Indian bully Suresh Raina is set to represent his home state, Uttar Pradesh, in the long-awaited Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is set to take place in January next year. Raina has announced his retirement from international cricket in August this year, but the World Cup-winning cricketer will continue to play domestic cricket for his home state, Uttar Pradesh, and in the Indian Premier League.

Raina shared the news with her fans on Twitter through images with her training in the net. Even though Raina has not played competitive cricket in the last year, he trained hard in the gym and kept fit for the upcoming domestic season in India.

Raina also did not play in the Indian Premier League 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates because she had to return home for “personal reasons”. In his absence, the Chennai Super KIng led by MS Dhoni fought and eventually failed to reach the playoffs for the first time. CSK finished in 7th place.

BCCI had to postpone the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy until January 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament is to be played in six states between January 10 and January 31, 2021.
