These gadgets include state-of-the-art phones from celebrities such as Deepika, Shraddha, Sara, Rhea Chakraborty and Arjun Rampal, among others.
Six months have passed since the disappearance of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the three agencies, CBI, NCB and ED, which continue to investigate the case. While the CBI and ED are investigating suicide and misappropriation of funds, respectively, the Drug Control Bureau investigated the drug angle that came to light with the actor’s death. In addition to girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, actors such as Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal and Rakul Preet Singh were called for auditions.
Now, according to a recent report in the Mumbai Mirror, the BCN investigating the link between Bollywood drugs has taken a step further and sent 85 gadgets to the Forensic Science Directorate (DFS) in Gandhinagar. These gadgets include state-of-the-art phones from celebrities such as Deepika, Shraddha, Sara, Rhea Chakraborty and Arjun Rampal, among others. Gujarat forensic experts have begun retrieving data from these gadgets, which also include laptops and pen drives. And data extracted from 30 mobile phones was sent to the NCB, Mirror reported.
These phones are carefully scanned by the team as they recover deleted videos, chat messages and photos from these phones. Given that these are state-of-the-art phones, forensic scientists should have purchased more tools to perform the recovery. The NCBs also corroborate this recovered data with their transmissions to the Agency.
In addition to data recovery, the NCBs also sent about 25 samples of drugs that have so far been confiscated in raids in Mumbai.
