“Telephone call”: Kamal Haasan in political connection with Rajinikanth | India News

NEW DELHI: Chief Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) Kamal Haasan on Tuesday he said it was just a “phone call” if the actor became a politician Rajinikanth wants to get his party before Tamil Nadu next year’s election.
Kamal Haasan, who is following the campaign in the state, said he was ready to cooperate with Rajinikanth for the benefit of the people, if there were no ideological differences between the two.
“We are just a phone call away. If our ideology is similar and if it would benefit people, we are ready to put our egos aside and cooperate with each other,” the MNM founder said when asked if he wants to form an alliance with Rajinikanth’s party.

This is not the first time that Haasan, the former actor himself, has suggested a connection with Rajinikanth.
On Sunday, Haasan said there was always the possibility of new alliances when asked if his party would reach an electoral deal with Rajinikanth’s outfit for the 2021 Tamil Nadu polls.
Earlier this month, Rajinikanth said he would launch his political party in January, and the announcement would be made on December 31.
A political party called “Makkal Sevai Katchi” in Tamil Nadu, which has been given the symbol of the “autorickshaw” elections by Indian Electoral Commission, had mentioned the name of the actor Rajinikanth in the application.
The applicant, whose name was not disclosed, first sought the symbol “two-fingered position” or “hasta mudra” (made famous by Rajini in the 2002 film “Baba”).
